Mental Health Awareness

Why is Mental Health Awareness important?

Mental health issues arise at home and in the workplace, but with early intervention and awareness they can be treated without stigma or judgment. Hunterlink’s Mental Health Awareness training helps workers identify the signs and symptoms, as well as the risk factors, of mental health issues in the workplace.

Our Mental Health Awareness workshops provide employees with general awareness of mental health in the workplace and equips them with practical skills and tools when they may find themselves in an accidental counselling role as a result of conversations or requests for support from colleagues or friends in the workplace experiencing a crisis.

Hunterlink’s Mental Health Awareness training will provide practical skills for responding to distressed individuals on the spot while also helping them to understand when and how to refer to a third-party (such as Hunterlink EAP) for ongoing support.

Mental Health Awareness training format

Learning how to respond appropriately in a time of uncertainty and crisis can have a huge impact on the individuals involved, strengthen workplace resilience and build trust within the workplace.

Hunterlink’s Mental Health Awareness training will:

  • Improve team cohesion
  • Develop self-care and resilience techniques
  • Increase and enhance your own wellbeing and that of your colleagues
  • Show you how to make use of professional support services and Hunterlink EAP to assist with your ongoing welfare and mental health
  • Build the capacity of staff, managers and business owners to identify and support positive mental health and wellbeing in the workplace.

Participants will learn the signs and symptoms of mental health risks or problems and how to get help for themselves or others so that long-term risk factors are reduced in the workplace.

Hunterlink’s Mental Health Awareness training is a fully interactive workshop using Emotional Intelligence Techniques and can be delivered as a Half-Day or a Full-Day training session at your worksite or at our offices in Newcastle.
